Translation and interpretation - important information

Placing an order

Clients may request a quote:
- by telephone (of an informative nature)
- by fax
- by e-mail
- through our electronic request form

An exact quote is calculated with reference to the submitted reference text and the specific translation parameters (volume, deadline, specialist field, etc.), which will be sent electronically or – if required – by fax. If this is accepted by the client in writing, following a confirmation from our translation agency, the work commences accordingly. For work that have already been confirmed and started we cannot accept any request for change or only in exceptional cases (where it does not affect any already completed work).

All material received by us is treated as confidential.

Pricing

For translations:
The quote for a specific translation is determined by the nature of the text to be translated. For documents with a quantifiable number of characters (e.g. Word, PPT, .txt, convertible pdf, etc.) settlement can be by source or target character numbers inclusive of spaces. In the case of source text to be edited, pricing is based on the required time spent on the completion of the job.
For certain translation material there is also an option for setting a fixed price if required.
Character number is to be inclusive of spaces.

If the contracting client does not provide a sample text (or the full document to be translated), the translation office will only provide a quote for information purposes, which might then be amended at a later stage in reflection of the full material.

For interpreting:
The rate for interpreting is determined according to the hours/person spent, which is to be paid for every hour started. According to practice, the minimum order for interpreting is four hours, thus half a working day.
For venues outside of Budapest the interpreter’s rate will also include travelling time. In the case of work exceeding four hours the client shall provide the interpreter with board and in the case of work for several days also accommodation.
